Barton Creek Cave
Driving through a small Mennonite Community called Barton Creek, will take us to remnants of an ancient Mayan civilization waiting to be explored in the cool watery underground caverns of Barton Creek. Here, you will experience the essence of a meditative ambience as you paddle on a canoe through an underground cave system as the sound of paddle on the peaceful waters harmonizes with your heartbeat. Your visit will include paddling canoes along an ancient Maya waterway inside the mountain. It is believed that the Mayas once used Barton Creek Cave as a center for ritualistic activities including human sacrifices, bloodletting rituals, agriculture rituals and possible fertility rites.
